Day 4-7 in Captivity: The Untolded Journey

After we left my dad stopped for fuel after that we drove off to D.C . Our first day away from the crib was uneventful for me mainly because I was hiding in the back, laying on a bed like I always do one these “vacations” so I cant describe any thing despite James my younger brother pointing out the occasional cow and when we entered the desert the rare cow scull but when going through this I had to ask what happened to the rest of the cows body?

The second day was a complete waste but I still have to point out that these storms are huge my dad hade to kick us out because it was dangerous and our slide had broke : (.  So good buy D.C. hello Red Bay Alabama, the location of the Tiffin R.V. factory. Later in the day another storm blew through but lucky we were of the highway and parked.

The third day was packed with special action packed action including a breakdown mechanical and mental!?!  All included in a wrapped deal made with a buddle of my mom and here car. Well if you hadn’t guessed already my mom’s car broke down and we were stuck in a semi desert in which looked so bland it looked like the Bureau of land management took a dump on it. Well I was so ticked of that we stopped that I wasn’t paying any attention of what was going on if you want details go read my dad’s stuff.

The forth and final day on our rerouted trip was REALLY uneventful because all we did is drive through the desert and the more we drove the more I thought how random of a place to make your H.Q. Well after 4 days of rapid driving, a car breakdown, and a mental break down we arrived rugged and weary into Red Bay Alabama.

Day 2-4 In Captivaty: The Road to Eldorado

Ok Pause one second you know how I said we were driving, It was actually just my dad turning on the generator for the R.V. After being brought up to speed by my brother I found that we were actually camping outside of our house for the next 3 days.  3 Days later...

Well the past 3 days were uneventful to the point that I wont waste you time by describing them. Well its morning and now its time for us to depart and leave this town. I was so exited I forgot the my request for us to drive to the Eldorado amusement park was turned down. As my dad turned on the engine (for real this time) and pulled out of our driveway, cooly listening to our trademark song "Are we there yet"as this was happening I was thinking "this must be sharkatrass" and then we drive into the rising sun...... (it was vary bright my dad needed glasses)

Day 1 in Captivity: 8 months, 17 days, 7 hours, 32 minutes, 11 seconds Later…

I awake after a long week my feet were sore and my arms aching and the house was a wreck. All of my possessions were packed and shoved into boxes piled into our garage. I was lying in my family’s new class A R.V. I remember that were leaving today, actually we were leaving shortly because past the window my parents were saying goodbye to the new tenants. I sigh to myself this is going to be a long trip and I dreaded coming back to the house for it would be hell to fix. so I got out of bed got dressed and went to the front where my brother, sister, and mother were batting down the hatchets or however that saying goes. I remembered that we have been on many trips but not of such a high caliber like this one. I gulp as I go to my seat in the R.V. I then lay back as the R.V.’s engine roars to life and we drive.

Prolog: An uncertain future

It all started out on a cool winter evening in mid November, I was lying down on a couch in my living room looking out the window at the black, foreboding clouds rolling silently over the hills that surround my home -- forever foreshadowing the dark days that were sure to come. Suddenly my mother calls out for the rest of my family to come to dinner. I am the first to arrive at the table for my mother made one of my favorite dishes, chicken with thai sauce and rice.  After the rest of my family assembles we say grace, and we dig in to the delicious meal. As we talked to one another my dad brought up the topic of driving a R.V around America. My mom seemed to support the idea, my brother and sister were thrilled by it.  I alone was the only one with any sense. It is funny looking back now --  it makes me wonder if I could have changed it all before it was all late. Well I’m getting ahead of myself I have a long story to tell…
